ABOUT JODI WILLENBORG

Certified Child Sleep Consultant

Hi!  I’m Jodi and if you are here, it probably means you are looking for answers regarding your child’s sleep.  I know what that feels like because I was YOU not so long ago.  After welcoming my first child into the world, I was living in a constant state of fatigue searching for answers as to why my son was not sleeping.  I read every book and researched all things sleep only to find the information confusing and contradictory.  Still, I tried to apply the strategies I read about but with failed success.  I was confusing my baby and lacked confidence in what I was doing.  Ten years later, as I welcomed my “biggest shock of my life baby” into our family, I vowed that I would do everything I could to get my new little guy to sleep.  A friend told me about her sleep consultant, and I was sold!  To say the least, it was life changing.  My husband and I had someone who could present to us the actual scientific evidence behind children’s sleep.  But, more importantly, we had the support we needed to carry out the strategies she put into place.  I could not have gotten that support from any blog, book, or website dedicated to children’s sleep.

The experience not only brought sleep back into my life, but it also inspired me to enroll in the Family Sleep Institute and complete my training to become a certified child sleep consultant.  I was certain that having gone through those difficult, sleep deprived years, I would be able to truly connect and empathize with exhausted parents in their quest to find answers.

What I love so much about this field is that it truly marries two aspects of my background.  After receiving my bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, I spent a decade teaching Language Arts and Literature to high school students.  It was a career I fell in love with as I was able educate and mentor young people.  After I took some time off raising my kids, I had such a desire to continue to educate and mentor.  A certified sleep consultant gets to do both!  We educate parents on the best pediatric sleep practices, and we also empower and motivate them to succeed in their goal to set strong foundations of sleep for their children.  So, you see, I get to be the teacher, the coach, and the cheerleader all rolled up in one!  My promise is simple.  I will listen to your goals, put a plan into place and cheer you on to success so that your family’s sleep health will improve and flourish.  Let’s get to work bringing sleep back to your family!
